The Department of Engineering, for organisational purposes, is divided into six sections representing six areas of engineering.
Sections:
- Electrical Engineering:
- Electronics Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Automotive Engineering
- Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
- Welding and Fabrications
Within this group structure there are a number of course management teams handling the affairs of their respective courses across the department.
Practical experience is a fundamental component of our courses and is delivered through industrial attachment in local industry as well as in our well-equipped workshop within the institute. Our graduates have the opportunity to work on interdisciplinary projects with a strong industrial relevance as well as more fundamental engineering topics. In this regard, a minimum of six-month industrial attachment is provided.
Course Structure:
The organisation structure of our course allows a student to progress from the craft level to advanced technical diploma but also allows graduation of any level since each programme leads to certification at the appropriate level.
